Making your own hand rolled beeswax candles is a super easy and fun activity to do on your own or with children. If you have already bought our DIY candle kit, thank you! We hope you enjoy the process of making the candles and experience the joy of lighting your own candles!
Here's our step-by-step guide to rolling your own candles using our DIY kit.
1. Cut the wick provided into 6 pieces - x4 at 11cm and x2 at 13.5cm.
2. Using a hairdryer, gently warm the beeswax sheet that you are about to use so that it becomes more pliable and easier to roll (be careful not to melt the wax!).
3. Place a piece of wick along the short edge of the wax sheet, with the wick protruding from one end approximately 1cm and sat flush with the other.
4. Carefully turn the edge of the wax sheet over the wick and press gently to hold in place.
5. Roll the candle as straight and as tightly as you can.
6. Once rolled, warm the loose edge with your finger or hairdryer and gently rub to stick it down. Be careful not to squeeze or squash the candle out of shape.
Following all of the steps above correctly will produce six beautiful beeswax candles, two measuring apprioximately 12cm in height and four measuring approximately 10cm in height. Burn time will vary depending on how tightly the candles are rolled.
Safety: Never leave during candles unattended. Use in a safe candle holder away from flammable materials. If you are making this kit with children, please ensure that the wick is cut for them and that they are supervised at all times.
